Do you love hiking and being outdoors? Do you ride bike trails in the back-country? If you're an outdoors enthusiast why not put your skills to earning a little passive income?
We publish hiking and biking trails for the many to use and enjoy. We don't publish information about amenities like hotels, restaurants, or other such things, we only publish information about trails.
All our guides are published with a single trail and all nuances involved. If there exist multiple small trails at a single location we'll put them together in a single guide if we choose to do so. The guides contain GPS way-points and down-loadable trails from a web link contained within the eGuides.
Each of our eGuides are only down-loadable books from major book retailers. They are not made available for paperback purchase, yet. The idea behind this is so our readers can download the trails of their choice without carrying books and other materials. The trails and way-points are all inside of a down-loadable KMZ/KML file which can be loaded on most all popular phone and GPS devices.
If you would like to earn a 75 percent profit off the net income from the trail information you contribute all you need to do is provide to us your trail information. The 75 percent might go up, but never go down. The details will follow. Our guides sell for $0.99 to $1.99. The higher cost is only because of the size of the upload/download file. The only overhead is from the retailer who typically takes 30 to 50 percent, some may take more. Out of what's remaining you will receive 75 percent. Your name will appear as an author and we'll put your picture in the guide if you wish.
If we accept your submission we will create the guide, publish it, and do some marketing. Your name will be in the book as the trail contributor, some information about you, and your picture (if you wish). All you have to do is sit back and collect the royalties. If you choose to market the guide yourself via social media you will make even more.
What we are looking for is good hikes. They don't need to be long, tedious, or strenuous. The hikes can be easy to very difficult. From almost any distance. They need to present interest - for instance, not a walk into some empty desert and back, they should have character and draw. A good example would be a Grand Canyon hike. You will also need to submit to us information about the area, the location, the GPS coordinates of the parking lot, the trailhead, and a small amount of fluff. Think about the descriptions, would you go there based on what you describe? Make it enticing.
Your submissions will need to contain a GPS GPX file along with a KMZ (not mandatory) file. We will verify the trails in Google Earth and other various tools. We will need several pictures with GPS coordinates attached. All of the coordinates must be in decimal notation, like 36.123456N and -115.123456W. This example is in the North Western Hemisphere. The pictures must be renamed in chronological order of the trail, 1 to x.
Since you may likely GPS your route anyway and probably take a lot of pictures, why not send them to us, get them published in a hiking guide, and make a little passive income from your hike?
