Great Job Jeremy

We need to thank those who have submitted hike information to us over the last few weeks. Currently we have about a three to four week delay period moving the new information to publication. We will let you know once they're available.

Many thanks to Jeremy for the image above. He submitted many images which are currently in process of guide creation.  Keep up the great work Jeremy! We look forward to many more submissions from you.

Desert Wildflowers

Have you been hiking in the desert the last couple weeks? The wildflowers are more spectacular this year, because of the extra rain, then we've ever seen. The middle of May 2019 has seen extra moisture and it has caused more greening of desert hills than usual.

Check out our hiking guides so you too can experience amazing places. The guides are only 99 cents and they include a plethora much information.

Happy hiking!

Cowboy Cave

Cowboy cave goes by a couple other names, but most people know it as Cowboy Cave. It's easy to get to if you can find it. Many people who hike to it give up because they can't find it. If you want a reasonably precise location with pictures and way-points download this guide for only $0.99 cents.

The cave is suitable for just about anyone to explore. Bring your flashlight. You can't get lost in the cave. It may be fairly large and there are no secret passages which lead to other passages.  The only what some might call a roadblock is, it's completely black once you turn away from the entrance.

The cave is just west of  the Red Rock Canyon visitor center entrance on Blue Diamond Rd, state route 159 on your left in Las Vegas.

Go enjoy the cave, it's quite interesting.

A Visitor 2019-04-28

As I was out this morning gathering information on another hike and some movement caught my eye. I wondered over and it was a lizard. Not just any lizard mind you, this sucker was at least 18 inches long, head-to-tail. I've seen plenty of lizards in my time, but I have never seen one this large.

We're Working On Them - and Thanks!

We have many guides and are working diligently to publish them. Between re-hiking all our best hikes, taking pictures, making sure the GPS markings are good, and then publishing, it takes a fair amount of time. Also, we've received hikes from a couple people, so they're in the pipeline now.

The pic above is on one of the many hikes we're publishing. We're happy to receive your great hikes. If we like them we'll publish them for you and you'll make $$.

Thanks everyone.

What We Do

Peterson's Hiking Guides

Hiking guides for areas you want to hike.  Take your passion to a new level and bring one of our Guides with you on your portable device.  Complete downloadable GPS KMZ trail files with way-points to guide your every step.  Easy to load on either your GPS or phone.

The guides contain pictures to show you where you should be including way-points on many of the pictures to give you the confidence of your location.

No need to buy bulky books or write down the trail info on paper, or tear out the pages.  With the convenience of a single hike laid out electronically on your device all you need to do is check your device and enjoy the hike.

We always recommend you carry a GPS with you for those just in case moments. Most of the trails we publish are well-marked trails. Each guide will let you know the level of difficulty and whether or not if a GPS or map is mandatory.

For all trails, we provide GPS tracks and way-points. It's up to you to determine your own abilities. Each person is different. We produce our guides to help eliminate some of the guesswork.

Welcome - The Great Outdoors

This is a new site dedicated to the great outdoors and those who love it. We are blogging about being outside and enjoying everything there is to see and enjoy around us.  To take advantage of the visions, the scenery, the places, and travels.

Part of this dedication is also to the new Peterson's Hiking Guides. Not books strewn with multiple destinations or puffery, just trails. You will find within the guides trail GPS downloads, way-points, and loads of pictures. Each guide will feature a single, or maybe at times, a couple trails for your use.

All you need to do is go to a major online book retailer, everywhere, and download a guide of your preference.  You will be able to download the GPS trails to your phone or GPS and take off.

Many of our guides are nearly ready to be published, so keep an eye out.  The following graphic is a rendition of the cover.
